About the role
We are seeking a dynamic, engaging Tour Guide passionate about history and storytelling. Ideal candidates will lead engaging walking tours that highlight the unique stories, people, and events that shaped Providence.
Responsibilities
- Lead five specialized tours focusing on Providence’s vibrant past: Voices of Resilience, Art and Architecture, Dark Tales, Real Ghosts of Providence, and Crime and Cuisine on Federal Hill.
- Engage diverse audiences with your public speaking and storytelling skills.
- Showcase Providence’s rich cultural tapestry and stunning architecture.
- Delve into the shadows of Providence through the eyes of its literary legends.
- Explore real mysteries and murders that played out across Providence history.
- Lead guests through a multi-course dinner stroll across several restaurants on Federal Hill.
Requirements
- A passion for food, history, and storytelling.
- Knowledge of Providence’s cultural and culinary landscape or a willingness to learn.
- Outstanding public speaking and storytelling skills.
- Closer attention to detail and time management skills.
- Prior experience in tour guiding, food service, or performance (a plus but not required).
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
