Topworks Assembler

About the role

The Topworks Assembler position at Valmet's Shrewsbury, MA facility is responsible for assembling various mechanical, electro-mechanical, and procedural tasks. Responsibilities include identifying components, mounting actuators and switches to valves, testing completed packages, and processing assemblies according to work order instructions and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and verify work orders and picklists for correct parts selection
• Note special instructions and lookup/print applicable specifications and drawings using ICN
• Use a variety of hand tools, pneumatic, electric, and power supplies
• Work with electric actuators requiring 230VAC power
• Mount actuator/manual gear to valves and set proper open/close positions using actuator stop screws
• Mount switches, filter regulators, and solenoids to assemblies according to work order specifications
• Rig components and completed assemblies safely, positioning slings correctly
• Ensure the center of gravity when lifting completed assemblies to avoid damaging products
• Ensure the quality of assembled products

Requirements

• Typically has experience in other assembly positions to gain product knowledge
• 0-1+ years of actual on-the-job experience
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings
• May use fork trucks or electric/manual pallet jacks to move materials within the assembly area
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational HSE requirements

Qualifications

Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and organizational Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Skills

• Understanding of component functions and adjustments, including limit switches, solenoids, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
