Toolroom Supervisor - Molding

About the Role

Cretex Medical is a leading contract manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for the medical device industry. Our customers view us as a trusted partner in injection molding, laser processing, metal stamping, and device assembly.

The Toolroom Supervisor will direct and coordinate tooling maintenance, repairs, and staff to ensure production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with customer delivery and quality requirements. This role drives continuous improvement in tool maintenance methods and related processes while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the toolroom to complete planned and unplanned maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate to production and planning partners the status of tools in repair.
  • Identify opportunities to improve preventative maintenance schedules and reduce unplanned downtime on tools.
  • Ensure the production schedule is attained and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Maintain quality and safety by establishing and enforcing standards.
  • Deliver employee communication tools for job performance, including annual performance goals, recognition, training, development, coaching, and counseling.
  • Lead staff through visual metrics and tiered accountability meetings.
  • Enforce company standards by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Lead project management activities and teams.
  • Drive process improvements in quality, delivery, inventory, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure work instructions, set-up sheets, and checklists are used and understood.
  • Enter production information into the ERP system on a timely basis.
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work.
  • Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a business or technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a tool room environment.
  • Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Preferred Skills

  • CNC and CAD experience.
  • Mold maintenance experience.
  • Supervisory certificates or functional experience.
  • Quality and/or Operational Excellence training (e.g., Lean, Six-Sigma, ASQ-CQE).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/13485.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Continuing education, including participation in local chapters, associations, or organizations.

Pay

Pay range: USD $75,000.00 – USD $123,800.00 per year.

This range reflects the base annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions.

  • Supervisor I: $75,000 – $112,600
  • Supervisor II: $82,600 – $123,800 (requires a minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams in a toolroom within a medical device manufacturing environment, along with an Associate degree in a business or technical field).
