Tooling Quality Technician
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Technician to join our Evansville Tool Shop facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring tooling quality and precision through advanced inspection techniques, CMM programming and operation, and collaboration with manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Complete tooling inspections and reports through various methods such as visual verification, 3D scanning, CMM operation, and other gauges
- Must be able to read and interpret tooling prints and specifications
- Provide CMM support and training for manufacturing employees
- Perform Quality Room and CMM maintenance
- Support the Calibration, Non-conformance, Quality Communications and Final Approval processes
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma / GED equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in programming and operation of coordinate measuring machines within industrial manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with tooling Windows based computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving skills using established Quality methods
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Metrology certifications
- Experience with Mastercam, CMM Manager, Polyworks and / or Solidworks
- Multiple years of experience in full tool build programs
- Familiarity with the ISO 9001 Standard
- Extensive knowledge in various types of tooling
