About the role
We are searching for a Lead Tooling Supervisor at our Duncan, SC location. The role involves:
- Leading and supervising the Tooling team
- Planning, coordinating, and executing tooling changes
- Maintaining preventive maintenance schedules
- Tracking and analyzing tooling performance issues
- Managing tooling inventory levels
- Implementing tooling solutions and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Maintaining compliance with company standards
- Ensuring team members understand and fulfill their responsibilities
- Applying and maintaining knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide the Tooling team
- Plan, coordinate, and execute tooling changes
- Develop, maintain, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules
- Track, analyze, and drive corrective actions for predictive maintenance and tooling performance issues
- Manage tooling inventory levels
- Coordinate and implement tooling solutions, including fixtures and EOAT requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
- Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure effective communication across shifts
- Promote compliance with company standards related to quality, environmental management, health and safety, and data security
- Ensure team members understand and fulfill their responsibilities regarding product quality, workplace safety, environmental impact, and information security
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training, coaching, knowledge sharing, and ongoing professional development
- Apply and maintain knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining injection, compression, and blow molding equipment in the plastics industry
- Previous experience supervising or leading maintenance/tooling personnel in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of tooling, molds, fixtures, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling and equipment issues efficiently
- Knowledge of mold changeovers and tooling optimization to minimize downtime
- Experience managing tooling inventory and spare parts
- Understanding of quality systems and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
