Tooling Engineer II
Position Summary
Designs and develops tools and machinery. Applies engineering skills to achieve tool/ product development in support of assigned project(s).
Job Description
- Develops solutions and solves moderately complex problems, gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.
- Delivers engineering projects on-time, on-quality, and on-budget.
- Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications.
- Develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production.
- Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools.
- May carry out duties off-site as required based on project need.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 4+ years of related experience or a recognized apprenticeship.
- May be required to maintain security clearance.
