About the role
This role is responsible for coordinating tooling availability, mill setups, and tooling maintenance to support efficient production operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring tooling is properly assembled, calibrated, and ready for use while supporting continuous improvement and troubleshooting efforts throughout the mill.
Responsibilities
- Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Check and monitor tooling to ensure it is available, properly assembled, and in good working condition
- Order tooling and saw blades to support production requirements
- Cookordinate and troubleshoot mill setups to improve operational efficiency
- Configure mill tooling and setups to enhance usability and performance
- Calibrate mill stands and alignment to maintain production accuracy
- Customize tooling to support efficient and effective operations
- Order inductors and impeders as needed for production processes
- Calculate strip widths for tube sizes and coordinate tooling regrinds
- Perform daily lift truck inspections and report defects or irregularities
- Support production teams with tooling-related troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing mill setup experience
- High school diploma or GED, preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using handheld measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Commitment to maintaining safe work practices in a manufacturing environment
Physical Abilities
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and tooling as required
- Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Operate lift trucks and manufacturing equipment safely
- Perform work in a plant or manufacturing environment
