As part of a hardworking team of engineers, designers, and fabricators, you will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and driving the build, integration, and commissioning of large tooling and factory automation systems. You will work directly with design engineers, fabricators, tool builders, and production teams to manage and support planning, facility integration, production communication, supply chain coordination, and overall project management of tool build, integration, and commissioning. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and drive execution of large complex tooling installation and commissioning activities.
  • Work directly with Design Engineering and Fabrication teams to understand deliverables and provide real-time problem solving to support fabrication.
  • Plan and facilitate all tooling integration activities with adjacent support groups including Production Operations, Supply Chain, Facilities, Transport, Logistics, Crane Ops, outside vendors, etc.
  • Provide technical support with regard to tooling functional and engineering requirements through fabrication, integration, and commissioning processes.
  • Support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment — projects will vary in size and scale.
  • Handle a wide range of technical design challenges related to assembly fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
  • Collaborate closely with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to achieve the best possible metrics (safety, cost, quality, delivery, reliability, and maintenance/refurbishment).
  • Establish, implement, and adhere to schedules and budgets to ensure project completion.
  • Facilitate effective and collaborative communication by fostering creativity and using team member strengths.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical understanding of tooling design, fabrication, and integration methods and processes including CNC machining, manual mills and lathes, welding, sheet-metal bending, tool building, electrical integration, lifting/rigging, assembly, inspection, etc.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects, schedules, and system-level integrations.
  • Experience using CAD software (Creo, Catia, and/or NX) for model manipulation, drawing access, measurement, information gathering, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and apply sound design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).

Desired Skills

  • Strong expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Proven understanding of common manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance/stack-up analysis.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as ASME BTH-1, ACI 318, JSC-65289, and NASA SP-8077.
  • Experience with custom machine design and installation: motors, actuators, linear rails/actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, etc.
  • Experience with Windchill and/or Teamcenter PLM software.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance.
  • Paid parental leave, short and long-term disability.
  • 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%.
  • Education Support Program.
  • Stock options for all regular employees (working at least 20 hours/week).
  • Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
  • Dependent on role type and job level, employees may be eligible for bonuses based on individual contributions and company results.
