About the role
At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Tool Technician (Small Engine Mechanic) at our rental facility in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming an industry stuck in the past.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, assign, and monitor work orders
- Track machine service intervals
- Order parts
- Diagnose issues using real-time data from hundreds of makes and models
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools (pneumatic tools, material lifts, chain hoists, core drills, welders, pipe threaders, small engines)
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed in a complete and timely manner
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and power tools, schematics and diagrams
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active applicable state class driver's license
- Construction knowledge and background preferred
Physical Requirements
- Able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Pay
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Offers overtime pay after working 40 hours
- Subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided
