Tool Room CNC Machinist
About the role
Tools Inc. is a leading manufacturer of precision tooling, metal stampings, and assemblies serving OEM customers across the heavy truck, recreational vehicle, appliance, agriculture, lawn & garden, audio, and motorcycle industries. Located in Sussex, Wisconsin, we specialize in deep-draw tooling, Class A cosmetic metal components, and advanced manufacturing processes including metal stamping, 5-axis laser cutting, fabrication, and weld assembly.
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Tool & Die team. This role involves setting up and operating 3-axis CNC machines to manufacture high-quality, custom, one-of-a-kind parts and components.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC machines to produce precision parts and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify parts meet specifications.
- Complete some programming of the machine to make edits and offsets.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to company safety standards and maintain a strong attendance record.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience machining custom, one-of-a-kind parts in a CNC environment (low-volume, high-complexity parts).
- Proficient in G-code programming and CNC machine operation.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tool selection for optimal efficiency and accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve team goals.
- Effective communication skills for sharing instructions and feedback.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience programming in CAD/CAM software, preferably Mastercam for CNC programming.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 50 LBS, lift twist, grab, stand (up to 8 to 10 hours), walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
