Tool, Die or Gauge Maker

What You Will Do

• Plan, construct, alter and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and gauges to close tolerances.
• Perform development work and difficult machine operations, i.e., fitting, timing and adjusting.
• Determine metal flow in dies, make tool try-outs, diagnose and correct problems.
• Perform die repair work.
• Program CNC mill.
• Plan job sequence to maintain even work flow throughout shop.
• Read and interpret detailed drawings and prints.
• Will train, advise and direct other employees when necessary.

• 4 to 5 years minimum working as a tool and die or gauge maker.
• Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, and grinders.
• Knowledge of making tools and dies or gauges.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.

Pay Range

$27 - $32 per hour
