Custom Control Sensors, LLC (CCS) is a global leader in the design, development, manufacturing, and supply of pressure, temperature, and liquid flow switches and sensors for the Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial markets. The Airborne Division supplies standard and custom switches, sensors, and transducers to aerospace, defense, commercial aviation, and government markets, including original PMA parts for Boeing, Airbus, and business aviation aircraft. The Industrial Division provides pressure and temperature switches, sensors, and transmitters for process control in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, steel manufacturing, tire manufacturing, automotive, medical, and other industrial equipment. About the Role

Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and machinist hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates manual lathes, manual mills, manual and automatic surface grinders, and all related tool room equipment.
  • Fabricates and maintains precision tooling for progressive and compound dies.
  • Troubleshoots, modifies, and repairs dies to meet company specifications for production parts.
  • Fabricates and assembles tooling for new dies and fixtures.
  • Sets up and uses optical comparators, surface plates, and various inspection devices to measure part dimensions.
  • Sets controls of the heat-treating furnace and heat-treats parts to required Rockwell hardness.
  • Machines and grinds precision tooling to tolerances of +/-.0002.
  • Lifts and positions dies for assembly and disassembly.
  • Uses hand tools such as files and stones to achieve special shapes and profiles in steel.
  • Reads and interprets complex blueprints and inspection specifications with a good knowledge of dimensional tolerance.

Requirements

  • Due to ITAR compliance, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years minimum experience or accredited apprenticeship.
  • Wire EDM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints and inspection specifications.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions.
  • Team-oriented with flexibility and adaptability.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain standing in a position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to frequently move about the work area to perform required duties.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and visual acuity (corrected) to read blueprints and operate manufacturing equipment.
  • May relocate products weighing between 0.5 pounds to 60 pounds at various times.
