Position Summary
The Tool and Die Maker will play a key role in supporting the Stamping Business Unit by building, maintaining, and improving fixtures, gauges, and progressive tooling. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced technical skills, troubleshoot complex challenges, and directly contribute to the quality and efficiency of our production operations. Working closely with a skilled team, the Tool and Die Maker will help drive innovation, ensure tooling reliability, and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Shifts Available
- 1st shift 600am-230 pm Mon-Fri
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on production-ready stamping tooling to ensure optimal performance.
- Accurately document all activities in required databases and records.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with team members to apply best practices in maintaining and qualifying progressive tooling.
- Monitor and support the refinement of toolroom processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Set up and operate manual toolroom equipment to produce high-quality, precise tooling components, fixtures, and other parts.
- Set up and operate toolroom measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent machine tool experience
- 3+ years building or maintaining progressive tooling
- Strong knowledge of cutting and forming, ability to troubleshoot by reading a progressive strip, and knowledge of the theory of cutting and forming in the stamping process
- Proven troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and effective solutions
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- High level of mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Preferred Requirements
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Medical device manufacturing
- Progressive tooling experience
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process.
- Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
Pay
- Tool Die Maker I: USD $22.40 - USD $23.08/hr
- Tool Die Maker II: USD $27.12 - USD $33.46/hr
- Tool Die Maker III: USD $32.79 - USD $49.23/hr
