Responsibilities

• Construct, alter, and repair highly complex custom tools, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Utilize toolroom equipment (lathe, milling machine, grinders, welders, drill press) to ensure tooling meets customer specifications.
• Read, interpret, and analyze blueprints.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of dies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist fellow employees, report unsafe working conditions/equipment, and participate in quality maintenance procedures.
• May halt production line or maintenance work related to product/die nonconformities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company business and products.
• Participate in tool and die training as needed, including quality, safety, cleanliness, teamwork, and total quality management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferable).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and blueprints.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Proficiency in advanced mathematical functions for inventory management and operational budgets.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Problem-solving skills for practical situations with concrete variables.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit; talk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, hear, and smell.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles (may require particulate masks in certain areas).
• Moderate noise levels; air and noise monitoring systems ensure safety compliance.
• Hours may vary; overtime, including weekends, may be required.
