About the role
Plans and performs a wide variety of bench and machine operations to build, alter, or repair highly complicated dies, tools, gauges, fixtures, or jigs, where accurate relationship, fitting, or interchangeability of parts require maintenance of extremely close tolerances. May be required to operate any type of tool room precision equipment working to required tolerances.
Must be able to diagnose and remedy tool difficulties working in conjunction with Tool Engineers and Designers. Must have knowledge of all types of precision measuring instruments. Must have the ability to devise new methods, develop new tools, lay out, and plan a sequence of work. Cuts, drills, files, shapes, fits, and assembles parts with or without the use of blueprints. Must understand the general effect of heat treatment on various metals.

- Machinist’s hand tools
- A wide variety of precision measuring instruments
Requirements
- Five (5) years of related experience
- This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information.
