Job Summary
The Tool Designer is responsible for all aspects of tooling design and production support throughout the forging facility. This position will support the entire product development at the designated manufacturing locations.
Job Requirements
- Responsible for Designing tools and supporting product development.
- Responsible for developing 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotation.
- Validates designs using FEA simulation software.
- May be required to work in other Engineering functions like Quality Engineering, Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Works to support customer due dates.
- Interacts on the shop floor throughout the Company to problem solve and optimize current processes and procedures.
- Performs any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.
Skill Requirements
- Associate’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/Material Science or 2+ years relevant work experience.
- Understand the fundamentals of GD&T.
- Design Experience in 3D solid modeling.
- English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address company and departmental objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the company executives, managers, and staff.
- Highly organized and plans effectively.
- Displays a strong ability to analyze issues and solve problems.
- Effectively applies rational, data driven solutions to difficult situations.
