- 1st Shift - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Uses blueprints, sketches, and/or descriptions to determine needed materials and machines to fabricate parts and make repairs.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as: lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders; verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
- Performs extensive die maintenance including rebuilding die sections and retrimming pads and forms on all types of dies.
- Hand grinds, spot grinds, or polishes in form sections.
- Examines standard and previously used dies and tools, recommending design modifications as needed.
- Works with engineering to develop concepts for improvements to tooling.
- Continuously looks for ways to improve processes.
- Documents all work done to dies for future reference.
- Develops a history of dies.
- Troubleshoots press repairs and issues when needed.
- Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
- Maintains professionalism at all times.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Completion of apprenticeship or at least 4 years of experience building/repairing metal stamping dies
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Frequent standing, pushing, and pulling
Qualifications
- Must be experienced
- Able to read blueprints
- Gauging equipment skills are essential (mic, calipers, depth mic etc)
- Must be able to run all tool room equipment (lathe, surface grinder, milling machine, radial arm drill)
- Must have material handling and Q.C. skills
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
