Tool and Die Maker

About the role

The Tool and Die Maker plays a crucial role in developing and debugging new dies, utilizing troubleshooting skills, blue-print reading, and knowledge of SPC. This position requires experience with various inspection equipment and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep a clean and safe work area
• Understand tool steels and production materials
• Construct, alter, or repair tools according to blueprints and CAD data
• Operate Tool Room equipment
• Fabricate tooling in the stamping department
• Maintain proper tooling records for preventative maintenance
• Setup dies, material feeds, and operate the punch press to trial tools
• Debug and troubleshoot new tooling for part approval
• Aid in die changeovers
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• Completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 10+ years of equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker with troubleshooting skills
• Expert in blue-print reading with GDT
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of SPC
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to push 200 lbs. on wheeled carts with assistance
• Ability to use various inspection equipment
• Available for mandatory overtime or non-standard/extended work schedules
• CNC Mill and EDM experience is a plus

Pay

Target hourly hiring range: $26.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Mandatory overtime or non-standard/extended work schedules may be required.
