Nordic Ware is seeking a full-time Tool and Die Maker to plan, layout, and perform precision machining and bench work to build, modify, and repair tools, dies, and other production equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform die assembly and fitting of new and existing tools.
  • Work from parts, prints, or sketches and verbal instructions to create parts for tools, replacement parts, and factory equipment.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines, including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Perform bench operations involving project planning and final assembly of material.
  • Perform rework on worn or damaged parts.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production tools including dies, molds, fixtures, and factory equipment during production.
  • Work with department leads to resolve problems that arise in various departments with machines, dies, tools, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production tooling and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with department team members and other department managers and supervisors to ensure production requirements are met and company goals are achieved.
  • Comply with plant safety rules, policies, and regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Use floor jacks, die lifts, hoists, and forklifts to move materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Manual machine experience required – including drills, milling machines, grinders, lathes.
  • 2+ years of tool making experience strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Molding and metal stamping experience is strongly preferred.
  • Accredited Vo-Tech program in Tool and Die making, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent desired.

On-the-job training is provided to help you become familiar with production processes, facility, and support equipment.

Pay

$26 - $36 per hour. We provide a salary range to offer candidates a general expectation of our compensation programs. The final offer is tailored based on your experience, knowledge, skills, and contributions to the role.
