Summary Of Job Responsibilities
The Tool and Die Maker II performs work on progressive and more complex stamping and/or metal forming dies and production tooling. The primary duty is to utilize tool and die making skills to independently fabricate and repair moderately complex tools and dies. The Tool and Die Maker II performs maintenance on tools and dies and performs more complex machining tasks with little to no supervision.
- Operate both manual and CNC machines with little to no supervision.
- Repair progressive dies, molds, and tools; disassemble molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassemble when repaired.
- Interpret detailed technical drawings and CAD models.
- Operate manual machines including but not limited to lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Perform quality checks and troubleshoot issues.
- Use precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure finished parts and ensure they meet specifications.
- Build and modify more complex spare parts.
- Troubleshoot production dies and tooling by partnering with Senior Tool and Die Makers, operations, maintenance, and engineering.
- Record and audit tooling repair history in CMMS software.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in fabricating and modifying progressive and more complex stamping and/or metal forming dies.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Intermediate knowledge of machining processes, including milling, turning, grinding, and drilling.
- Intermediate and detailed knowledge of various types of metals, lubricants, and other industrial materials used in tool making.
- Intermediate level operation and troubleshooting of CNC machines and machining operations.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Advanced technical school training or Tool & Die Journeyman.
- 3-5 years of experience with progressive and more complex stamping and/or metal forming die repair, and troubleshooting.
- 3-5 years of experience with Computer Aided Machining software, ex: CAMWorks.
- 3-5 years of experience working with CMMS (computerized maintenance management software) to document work and audit asset history.

Total Rewards
- Compensation Range: $59,700.00 - $89,500.00, depending on experience.
