About the role

This position is responsible for the mechanical construction of molds and dies, applying standard mold making techniques, procedures, and criteria. The role involves leading the construction of several products concurrently while working within very close tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret design blueprints to determine die/mold making plan.
  • Perform operations within very close tolerances.
  • Maintain and use personal tools and toolbox.
  • Inspect own work for quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Programming throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Operate multiple machinery, including Bridge Port, Grinders, Saws, and EDM.
  • Comply with Corporate EHS, Quality, and HR rules and standards.
  • Wear required PPE (personal protection equipment) and follow safety precautions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more years of experience in tool making/mold making.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Qualifications

  • State-issued Journeyman’s papers for Tool & Die and/or Mold Making, or 8+ years of job shop experience.
  • Previous experience in the construction of turbine/airfoil molds and dies (strongly preferred).
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a die-making or cell team.
  • Basic Math and Trigonometry knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of tooling processes.

Pay

Hourly range: $20–$40/hour (actual compensation varies based on education, experience, skillset, and location).
