Tomah Middle School: Musical Director

Supplemental extracurricular position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

About the role

The TMS Musical Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all aspects of the annual middle school musical production. Performance dates for the 2026-2027 school year: October – December 6th.

Responsibilities

• Select an appropriate musical production with the approval of the principal
• Schedule and conduct auditions
• Schedule and conduct a sufficient number of rehearsals
• Create and distribute a call schedule for rehearsals
• Organize volunteers as necessary to support the production
• Responsible for budgeting and cash accountability according to district policy
• Coordinate technical aspects of the production with appropriate district staff
• Coordinate the design and construction of the set
• Enforce student activity and behavior expectations as outlined in the TMS Student Handbook

Requirements

• Minimum level of education: high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience supervising and working with children, preferably of middle school age
• Experience performing, or working with musicals, plays, or other theatrical events

Pay

Pay based upon the extracurricular activities pay schedule.

Schedule

Annual evaluation by the principal and/or designee.
