About the role

Certified Languages International (CLI) provides world‑class interpreting services since 1996, serving thousands of organizations that need to communicate with Limited English Proficient speakers. The role is 100% over‑the‑phone interpretation, handling a high volume of calls—most of them medical—across industries such as insurance, finance, utilities, customer service, and state courts.

Responsibilities

• Provide over‑the‑phone interpretation for clients via CLI’s online portal or phone.
• Log on and off as needed to accept calls.
• Work a flexible schedule; you can choose when to work, with 24/7 call availability.
• Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality while interpreting.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States (SSN or EIN) and possess a valid photo ID.
• Reside in the United States (applicants from California, New Jersey, or New York are not being recruited at this time).
• Ability to work as an independent contractor/freelance interpreter.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Toisanese and English.
• Prior interpreting experience is preferred.

Pay

Interpreters are paid per minute of phone interpretation. Payments are issued twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of each month, via direct deposit.

Schedule

Work‑from‑home position; you set your own hours. CLI offers interpreting services 24/7, so you can log on and off whenever you choose.
