About the role
The Learning Experience – River Vale is seeking an experienced and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our Toddler Teacher creates a warm, responsive classroom where babies feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore. We're looking for someone who already has experience caring for infants or young children in a professional childcare setting and is confident supporting the unique routines and developmental needs of our youngest learners.
Responsibilities
- Lead a safe, nurturing, and engaging toddler classroom
- Provide attentive, responsive care throughout the day
- Support individualized feeding, diapering, nap, and daily routines
- Create age-appropriate sensory, movement, language, and early learning experiences
- Encourage cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
- Observe developmental progress and celebrate important milestones
- Maintain accurate classroom records and daily communication
- Build trusting relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and center leadership
- Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom
- Follow New Jersey childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous professional childcare or early childhood education experience required
- Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
Qualifications
- Toddler classroom experience strongly preferred
- Previous Lead Teacher experience is a plus
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable with feeding, diapering, safe sleep practices, and individualized infant routines
- Patient, dependable, nurturing, and confident leading a classroom

$18 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
