About the role

The Goddard School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position offers a supportive and nurturing environment where you can make a significant impact on young children's lives.

Responsibilities

• Aid in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Show empathy and compassion for young children
• Work productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children

Qualifications

• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience, and credential requirements

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
• Knowledge of child development and educational theories
