Toddler Teacher

About This Role

Join the administrative team at Redeemer Children's Center &Preschool in Charleston, SC as a Toddler Teacher. This role pays $16 – $19/Hr and requires a willingness to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with employer support.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain a cohesive teaching team, manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, physical, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, daily reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment- including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
• Maintain accurate tracking records, ensure all program policies and state regulations are met, and be able to supervise children at all times.
• Attend a minimum of 17 hours of required continued education training (15 hours plus BBP and First Aid/CPR).
• Afford assistance in the general upkeep of the Preschool as necessary and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least one year experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Be 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to get on the floor and play with children.
• Must be able to successfully pass a full background check.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. and pass a health assessment.
• Have high energy and a strong work ethic.
• Must be a team player and get along well with others.
• Must be flexible, dependable and maintain a positive attitude.
