About the Role

This position involves creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans for toddlers, fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through play-based learning. You'll work closely with families and a multidisciplinary team to ensure each child thrives in a safe, engaging classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver daily activities aligned with early childhood education standards (e.g., Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards).
  • Observe, document, and assess children's progress using established tools (e.g., Ages & Stages Questionnaires, Teaching Strategies GOLD).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers, specialists, and families to support individualized learning plans and address developmental needs.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and routines, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution.
  • Communicate regularly with families through conferences, newsletters, and informal updates about their child's growth and classroom experiences.
  • Adhere to all licensing regulations, safety protocols, and Cincinnati Children's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting.
  • Knowledge of toddler development (ages 18 months–3 years) and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with children, families, and team members effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively participate in classroom activities.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.
