About the role
The position of an Electrical Apprentice is responsible for maintaining electrical services by diagnosing and repairing electrical problems. This role will also organize work by receiving and studying work orders, gathering tools and supplies, and conducting systems tests and completing preventative maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical components, run conduit and wire, and complete the field installation of electrical equipment.
- Diagnose electrical problems by studying diagrams, manuals and specifications; troubleshooting systems; conducting tests.
- Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components.
- Maintain electrical systems by conducting systems tests and completing preventative maintenance requirements.
- Keep supplies ready by placing orders through the appropriate channels.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.
- Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Maintain poise and focus under time constraints and adverse conditions.
- Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
- Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge in electrical engineering obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education.
- Petrochemical/refinery experience preferred.
- First Aid and CPR trained.
- Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.
