Title ID/OD Machinist - Night Shift

About the role

The ID/OD Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of CNC ID/OD grinders in the ID/OD Grind Department. The ID/OD Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Geared Solutions ID/OD Grind department work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
• Read, interpret, and produce machined dimensions from information on engineering drawings
• Adhere to job plans per job travelers
• Set up and operate CNC and Manual OD and ID grind equipment with minimal supervision
• Grinding of splined shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances within .0001”
• Basic Maintenance of CNC Grinders
• Use precision measurement equipment to ensure first piece and production quality
• Maintain proper documentation of SPC data
• Consistently produce quality parts
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 7 years of experience
• Blueprint reading skills
• Shop math skills
• Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools
• Positive attitude
• Ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Good hand-eye coordination
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to use hand tools
