About the role

This position provides support to students with autism and related disabilities in an educational setting. The role is part of The Transformation Network at Jeffers, Jay W. ES and involves working 9 months, 7 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of instructional programs and lesson plans for students with autism and related disabilities
• Provide direct support to students in academic, behavioral, and social skills development
• Implement behavior intervention plans under the direction of licensed staff
• Assist students with activities of daily living as needed
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior data
• Support students in both general education and special education settings
• Assist with classroom preparation and materials management
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must meet Paraprofessional Highly Qualified requirements (48 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Assessment)
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
• Experience or training in working with students with autism preferred

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and flexibility in working with students with diverse needs
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
• Physical ability to assist students with mobility and personal care needs
