Title I - Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant III - Cheyenne HS.

9-month position, 7 hours per day. Program: 1-on-1 Aide.

About the Role

This position provides one-on-one support to students as part of the special education program at Cheyenne High School in North Las Vegas.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned student with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as outlined in the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Implement behavior intervention plans and collect data on student progress.
• Support the student in accessing the general education curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other school staff to ensure consistent support for the student.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, and physical needs of the student as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Sixty (60) college credits from an accredited institution, OR
  • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, OR
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent local assessment.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must provide proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) test within the last 6 months.
• Must complete all required district training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
