Title I Math Teacher Assistant

Essential Functions

• Aid in instruction and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with work activities as needed.
• Create and adapt instructional materials as per teacher’s direction.
• Support students with their assignments.
• Implement instructional strategies that respect individual differences and foster student achievement.
• Enhance the learning environment through support tasks.
• Show commitment to professional growth to adapt to changes in the position.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervision

• Serve as a supervisor for students in the cafeteria or during recess.
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements regarding students, parents, and classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Substitute teaching certificate required.
• Minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours or successful completion of paraprofessional exam.
• Works well with children.
• Ability to follow the instruction of the assigned teacher.
• Must successfully pass a background check satisfactory to the Board of Education.
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written skills.
• Strong computer knowledge and assistive technology skills.
