Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid Texas teacher’s certification
- 3 years of classroom experience
- Reading and/or Math Specialist certification, preferred
- Valid Texas Bilingual/ESL – Spanish Certificate/Endorsement, preferred
Major Responsibilities And Duties
- Provide daily focused instruction in small group math or literacy settings in a push-in model for struggling students.
- Aid the classroom teacher in maintaining progress monitoring records and anecdotal information as required by the SSP committee.
- Use a variety of assessments and monitoring tools to help diagnose and prescribe individual students' needs.
- Participate in purposeful planning with teachers in specified PLCs and grade level meetings.
- Attend and participate in required interventionist Specialist professional developments and district level meetings.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum and Instruction Coordinators and Title I Academic Specialists.
- Meet regularly with the school administration to keep them abreast of student progress.
- Pursue opportunities for life-long learning and professional growth.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and legal/local board policies.

- Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making.
- Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
