Title I Intervention Specialist (26-27 SY) - Barton ES

About the Role

The Title I Intervention Specialist serves as part of the school’s leadership team, providing specialized instruction to identified struggling students through the response to intervention (RtI) process. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, participating in Student Success Plan (SSP) meetings, and offering professional development to teachers on differentiated instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily focused instruction in small-group math or literacy settings using a push-in model for struggling students.
• Assist classroom teachers in maintaining progress monitoring records and anecdotal information as required by the SSP committee.
• Use assessments and monitoring tools to diagnose and prescribe individualized student needs, tracking progress daily and throughout the year.
• Participate in purposeful planning with teachers in PLCs and grade-level meetings to identify and serve students in need of intervention.
• Attend required interventionist professional developments and district-level meetings, acquiring knowledge, skills, and instructional strategies to impact student achievement.
• Collaborate with Curriculum and Instruction Coordinators and Title I Academic Specialists.
• Meet regularly with school administration to report student progress.
• Pursue opportunities for professional growth and lifelong learning.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
• Perform other duties related to improving student achievement as assigned by the principal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Texas teacher certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Reading and/or Math Specialist certification (preferred).
• Valid Texas Bilingual/ESL – Spanish Certificate/Endorsement (preferred).

Skills

• Knowledge of the Texas Assessment Program, district curriculum, and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
• Deep understanding of the RtI process and district documentation procedures.
• Proficiency in intervention techniques and programs to accelerate early literacy and math skills.
• Computer proficiency for word processing, presentations, and record-keeping.
• Ability to work collaboratively and model instructional techniques.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Pay

Salary follows the district’s teacher pay schedule (187-day contract).
