Title I - Instructional Assistant III - Physical Education - McWilliams ES.

9-month position, 6 hours per day.

Location

J.T. McWilliams Elementary School, Las Vegas

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in providing instructional support to students.
• Help implement lesson plans and instructional activities under the direction of the teacher.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to reinforce learning.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
• Prepare instructional materials and set up equipment for lessons.
• Monitor and supervise students during class, transitions, and activities.
• Assist students with personal care needs as required (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
• Perform clerical duties such as grading, record-keeping, and preparing reports.
• Support students with special needs in accordance with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to support student progress.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following:
  • 48 college credits, or
  • Associate degree or higher, or
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent district-approved exam.
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively under the supervision of a teacher.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move materials (up to 30 pounds) and assist with student mobility as needed.
• Must pass a background check and provide proof of immunity to certain communicable diseases (e.g., TB test, MMR vaccine).
