About the role
The successful candidate will provide academic coaching and intervention services to students in grades K-8, focusing on literacy development. They will work closely with teachers to implement evidence-based instructional strategies and support struggling readers and writers.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small group instruction to students identified as needing additional support in reading and writing.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement differentiated instruction plans based on student needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of best practices in literacy education.
Requirements
- K-8 elementary certification is required.
- Literacy specialist certification is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Strong background in literacy education.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of current research-based instructional strategies for reading and writing.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Proficiency in using technology to support literacy instruction.
