About the Role
We are seeking a Program Quality Engineer for our facility in Macomb, MI. Triumph designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, and overhauls aviation and industrial components, accessories, subassemblies, systems, and aircraft structures. We partner with OEMs and operators globally to solve complex aerospace challenges, participating at all levels of the aerospace supply chain and providing solutions across the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers to process nonconforming parts (MRB), resolve engineering and process constraints, provide robust corrective actions (RCCA), and support audits.
- Collaborate with customers and the Triumph team to execute New Product Introduction (NPI) requirements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Own key elements for developing, reviewing, monitoring, and improving activities related to end-customer requirements.
- Ensure all customer requirements are established, documented, communicated, and maintained in compliance.
- Serve as the Quality interface between the organization, customers, and suppliers to proactively meet customer needs.
- Interpret and evaluate test results against engineering requirements, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance.
- Review and provide disposition on customer returns; submit and close Notice of Escapes (NOE) in coordination with customers.
- Manage and submit First Article Inspection to customers.
- Guide engineers and inspectors on engineering and inspection requirements.
- Participate in APQP/PPAP and provide documentation to customers.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, manufacturing, inspection) to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Analyze complex problems and derive solutions.
- Communicate technical issues, solutions, and concepts to diverse audiences, including program managers, customers, and executive management.
- Track and report monthly quality performance metrics.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to understand requirement flow-downs.
- Understand design intent, product requirements, manufacturing processes, process controls, and failure modes.
- Support development and evaluation of product/process capability, control plans, and process audits to improve performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA, CQM, Green/Black Belt) highly desired.
- 3+ years of experience in a Quality Role within an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of metrological and metallurgical inspection.
- Training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of AS9100D and AS13100 requirements.
- In-depth experience reading blueprints and interpreting customer/international specifications.
- Experience with Advanced Quality Processes (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving).
- Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards and customer engagement.
- Experience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Compliance and regulatory experience.
- Strong technical, quantitative, analytical, and data management skills.
- Effective presentation and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and ERP applications.

- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
