About the Role

We are seeking a Title Attorney to join our team in the greater Chattanooga, TN area, Northern Mississippi, or Northwest Georgia. The Title Attorney will manage residential settlements for assigned office(s), including client acquisition and retention, conducting real estate settlements, and advising or supporting assigned or centralized employees. This role involves supervising branch office staff and may include indirect supervision of other positions.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve targeted financial results through effective business development and adherence to company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Partner with the Corporate Office on operational and underwriting functions.
  • Represent the company at marketing functions, including sales meetings, educational classes, conventions, and after-hours social events.
  • Actively manage client accounts and comply with all federal, state, and local employment regulations and settlement guidelines.
  • Engage in teamwork with managers, employees, and company branches to foster collaboration.
  • Monitor and enhance communication and processes throughout the lifecycle of files to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Market the assigned region or office to grow the business through proven settlement ability and business development activities.
  • Oversee and actively participate in all phases of account management to meet revenue objectives.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, emphasizing client acquisition and retention.
  • Manage assigned staff or "dotted line" reporting assignments, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, counseling, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Participate in company meetings and training programs.
  • Travel frequently for settlement closings, sales meetings, trainings, and marketing events.
  • Prepare and review documents associated with commercial and residential real estate transactions.
  • Teach real estate-related classes and seminars, and participate in drafting and revising continuing education course material.
  • Consult on real estate laws and regulations related to buying or selling real estate within company guidelines.
  • Explain the settlement process to clients, ensuring all necessary documents are completed and signed to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Review settlement files post-settlement for compliance and accuracy to guarantee client satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with disputes or complaints resulting from real estate settlements, client relationships, or other transactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on industry changes affecting the organization.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by assisting other company-affiliated branch offices and regions.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the GA or MS State Bar or ability to gain admission.
  • At least two years of legal title and settlement experience in GA or MS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with networking and business development skills.
  • Title Producer license in GA or MS, or ability to obtain.
  • Notary public or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with conducting settlements, preferably in MD, VA, and DC.
  • Familiarity with Qualia, SoftPro Select, or Resware transactions is preferred but not required.
  • Valid state driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record, satisfactory credit report, and criminal background check.
  • Ability to qualify for any license required by the state.
  • Comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
