Tire Technician - Cloquet
About the role
This position involves traveling throughout the Fairchild Northern Market to service Fairchild customers by dismounting and mounting tires on various types of equipment including forklifts, scissor, and boom lifts. The Tire Technician will operate a company-owned/leased vehicle to complete their duties.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily/weekly work schedule based on priority of work orders.
- Operate a mobile tire truck while adhering to DOT rules and regulations.
- Remove, roll, and position tires on the press, adjust, set up, and operate the tire press.
- Dismount and mount different types of tires, remove lug nuts or fasteners from wheels, and assemble other components.
- Communicate with customers regarding the installation of new tires and verify all information.
- Maintain and keep records of inventory levels for the warehouse in the mobile tire truck.
- Monitor and track scheduled maintenance intervals and send the truck in for maintenance.
- Clean and maintain service equipment, mobile truck, and warehouse.
- Participate in job-related training and support the safety program.
- Take on additional duties as requested by the Service Manager.
Requirements
- Class B CDL required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Physical Demands

The worker may be exposed to extreme cold, heat, noise, oils, and other environmental conditions. The worker may also be subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat, and exposure to chemicals.
