About the role
The Tire Technician C (I) at Transdev in Englewood, CO is a critical position responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. This role ensures safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Dismount all used tires.
- Mark used tires as bad, needing repair, or if a good “used” tire to be reused in the shop.
- Inspect rims to ensure they are safe, not damaged, and meet the edge requirements according to specifications.
- Remove any rust and contaminants on rim surface, edge, and lug nut mounting holes.
- Inspect rim holes to ensure they’re not damaged or oblong.
- Mount new tires to clean and safe rims.
- Mount “good” spare tires to rims and mark tread depth on the tie tread.
- Conduct a daily tire inventory and report to the Parts Department of current count and tires needing to be ordered.
- Clean tire cage daily. Ensure the area is well organized by moving out the tire racks and cleaning behind and underneath them.
- Clean off any equipment and tools in the tire cage that you use daily.
- Ensure tire lube containers are closed and free of debris before using.
- Scrub and clean the tire cage floor once a week.
- Perform a fleet walk of all buses and service vehicles on the lot and record tread depth, air pressure on tire tracking sheet.
- If air pressure is low, bring the bus in and inspect and repair the tire.
- Complete a full inspection of all bus tires every two weeks and turn it into the Director of Maintenance.
- Check tires on buses in the lot and shop for any uneven tread wear, sidewall damage, rim and Lugnut condition.
- Ensure Lugnut indicators are in the correct position and secure on each tire and the Lugnuts are free of rust spots.
- Review DVIR book inside the bus and check for any indications of tire issues reported by the driver.
- Empty trash in Tire Cage.
- Respond to buses on route with a flat tire that requires replacement. Must be able to replace a tire on the road when bus is in a safe location.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- A minimum of 19 years of age.
- Must exhibit both written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Must complete and sign the Transdev employment application in its entirety.
- Must provide a complete and verifiable employment history.
- Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain a Forklift certification if needed.
- Must be able to obtain a “Class B” CDL License if needed.
Skills

Pay
Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement: $32.66 / hr
Schedule
