About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking Tire Mechanics at their Matteson, IL Service Center. The position offers competitive pay up to $30.25 per hour, full-time Monday-Friday shifts, and various schedules available.

Responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on class 8 fleet vehicles
• Operate off and on the truck balancer
• Perform service calls on the road with a service truck
• Identify retread from new tires and proper wheel fasteners
• Operate and use basic hand tools to properly tighten wheels
• Repair tractor-trailer tires to company standards

Requirements / Qualifications

• At least 1 year of commercial tire experience
• Ability to lift up to 125 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a service truck
• Basic knowledge of tire DOT information and out-of-service criteria
• Properly identify and repair tractor-trailer tires to company standards
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
