Toyo Tires Field Engineers combine technical knowledge, field experience, and strong analytical skills to support product performance, identify issues, evaluate market trends, and drive product improvement initiatives in the Great Lakes region.
Responsibilities
- Perform product placement in the market and conduct regular field inspections; provide detailed reports on inspection results.
- Analyze field-inspection findings and propose next steps.
- Investigate field problems, develop solutions, and prepare reports.
- Research market trends and competitors’ activities; deliver detailed competitive benchmarking reports.
- Plan, schedule, and execute tire-related testing, including performance data on existing Toyo products; prepare final test reports.
- Present results to management and recommend future plans.
- Maintain on-site Toyo equipment, products, and infrastructure.
- Manage product shipments, installations, and returns.
- Leverage technology for business research to develop new products and services.
- Define market requirements for current and future products through customer visits, prospect outreach, and market research.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Japan R&D on product decisions, testing, and reporting.
- Monitor and investigate warranty analyses.
- Travel 30 %–50 % of the time (domestic and international), including occasional weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in tire engineering, testing, or field service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data-analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (30 %–50 %).
