Tire & Battery Technician - Automotive

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician, you will provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, delivering value to our members. You will collaborate with other associates to ensure the club meets member expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Team Member
    • Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests.
    • Educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
    • Mentor new technicians and develop interpersonal skills for safe and efficient customer service.
  • Be an Expert
    • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, and equipment operations.
    • Understand TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems), product specifications, and seasonality.
    • Utilize Point of Sale systems and apply phone and in-person selling techniques.
  • Be a Techie
    • Leverage digital tools to plan and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement.
    • Use handheld technology and systems to make immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application, and training.
    • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner
    • Communicate equipment, tools, and supply needs to the TBC Lead.
    • Track and monitor returns and special orders.
    • Operate cash registers and process transactions.
    • Work hands-on in the physical area and maintain accurate inventory.
    • Audit safety and compliance standards.
    • Report TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, and work areas.
    • Complete paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.
    • Ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored according to company policies.
    • Identify member needs, assist with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador
    • Advocate for the brand by valuing the member experience and modeling high-quality service and products.
    • Develop, influence, and inspire others in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style.
    • Understand roadblocks and assist in training team members.
    • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
    • Use the Open Door Policy and apply these principles in executing business processes.

Requirements

  • Valid State-issued Driver’s License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Acknowledge the position requires successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Auto service industry experience.
  • Retail experience.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
