Tire and Lube Technician

About the role

The Tire and Lube Technician performs general vehicle repairs, maintenance, and diagnosis in a well-lit, well-ventilated repair shop. Exposure to grease, car exhaust, chemicals, and background noise from coworkers, vehicles, and tools is expected. Regular, punctual attendance and adherence to safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and proper ergonomics, are required.

Responsibilities

• Service customer vehicles while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify problems with vehicles, including engine, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Perform tire repairs, including sealing punctures and replacing valve stems.
• Install and perform tire maintenance, including rotation.
• Perform oil changes, transmission service, and filter replacements.
• Road test vehicles.
• Ensure the service center is clean and safe.
• Install batteries and check electrical systems.
• Use dollies, jacks, hoists, lifts, and various tools in accordance with proper use and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience in lube/tire technician duties (preferred).
• Working understanding of tire/lube service procedures and mechanical skills.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and working under vehicles.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds routinely.
• Ability to stand for long periods, use power tools, and perform fine motor tasks.
• Must be able to raise arms above the head and shoulders for extended periods.
• Basic mathematical skills, including fluid specifications and volume measurements.
• US work authorization.

Licenses or Certifications

• Unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Maintain TIA & ALI certification upon training received.
