We're opening a brand-new Sam's Club in Baytown, Texas and we're looking for a Tire & Battery Center Team Leader who is member-obsessed, hands-on, and ready to help build something from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment, with the unique opportunity to help launch and shape a new location from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Be a Leader: Lead and inspire a team of Tire & Battery Center associates to execute the business plan and deliver exceptional member service. Set clear goals, expectations, and service standards. Advocate for the member, the associate, and the company—every day. Partner with cross-functional team leaders to deliver a seamless total-club experience.
  • Be the Expert: Maintain deep knowledge of tire and battery service standards, safety and compliance protocols, equipment operation, TPMS, tire recalls, product specifications, and seasonal trends. Train and upskill your team to ensure consistent, high-quality service. Stay current on new products, technologies, and tools—leveraging learning resources and training opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Be a Tech-Forward Leader: Use digital tools and handheld technology to drive sales, improve service, and enhance associate engagement. Make real-time business decisions using safety alerts, product applications, and training resources. Champion adoption of new tools and encourage innovation within your team.
  • Be an Owner: Drive business results while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment. Proactively plan and order equipment, tools, and supplies while managing expenses. Track inventory, returns, and special orders with accuracy. Support staffing, scheduling, register operations, and hands-on service when needed. Ensure all audits, safety standards, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Train, coach, and develop associates through hands-on leadership and timely completion of training and eLearnings. Identify potential in others and help build the skills needed to deliver exceptional service. Encourage career growth and help source talent—both internally and externally—to strengthen the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months supervisory experience OR 6 months experience in automotive industry
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Successful completion of all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
