Duties/Responsibilities
- Safely set up and operate welding machines and other shop equipment
- Expertly weld small, medium and large various metals
- Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints
- Lay out, position, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
- Bolts, Clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file or scraper
- Welds components in flat or vertical positions
- Checks parts to ensure they are meeting the company's standards before moving to the next department
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs. repetitively
- Reliable transportation
- Reliable attendance record
