About the role

FUSE METAL, a division of King Retail Solutions, is a custom metal fabrication job shop specializing in sheet metal fabrication and finishing. We are seeking a skilled TIG/MIG Welder/Fabricator to fabricate metal assemblies and weldments. The role involves layout, cutting, welding, drilling, and other machining activities within specified timelines and per company standards.

Schedule

The typical production schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. Extended hours and Saturdays may be required during peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Cut and join metal parts using tools such as an iron worker, cold saw, oxy-fuel torch, plasma cutter, and welding machines (MIG, SMAW, TIG, Dual Shield).
  • Bend and form metal parts using a press brake.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, understanding key dimensions, angles, tolerances, and finish requirements.
  • Work closely with the project lead to meet production goals, reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and adhere to the shop floor scheduling system.
  • Perform work safely without accident or injury while maintaining a hazard-free work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of recent experience in TIG and MIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, redlines, and other technical communications.
  • Effective oral communication skills to convey concerns or suggestions to customers or employees.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, square, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly while standing on a cement floor.

Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions, drawings, and written instructions.
  • Safe operation of metal cutting equipment (iron worker, cold saw, grinder, sander, oxy-fuel torch, etc.).
  • Ability to create structurally and aesthetically sound weldments.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward instructions and handle problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently talk or hear and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
