This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located at the customer's site. Our National Security Team supports the intelligence community, providing, operating, and assuring critical voice, video, and collaboration services for the full spectrum of operations.
About the role
AT&T has an opening for a Tier 3 Network Engineer to support the 24x7 Network Operations Center in providing Tier 3 network service and superior troubleshooting expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 support to the Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet, Internet, and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Maintain network hardware and software.
- Proactively identify risks in the network and develop a plan to mitigate them.
- Support numerous business requirements for telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, and Video).
- Hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems.
Requirements
- Advanced networking qualifications including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, LAMBDA, and LAN/MAN/WAN/Optical specialization.
- Utilization of common ticket systems (Remedy, ServiceNow) and common network management tools (HPOV, HPNA, SolarWinds, MNS, Netcool, etc.).
- Strong understanding of the OSI model and configuration of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, LDP.
- Total of 12 years of applicable experience. The experience can be a combination of degree and work history: High School degree and 12 years of work history, Associate’s and 10 years, Bachelor’s and 8 years, Master’s and 6 years, or PhD and 4 years of work history.
Qualifications
Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Preferred network certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP.
Pay
Individual starting salary within the range of $89,200 - $207,900 USD annually may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
