About the Role
Digital Consultants is seeking a Tier 3 / Technical Management Task Lead to provide senior-level technical direction, engineering knowledge, and planning for IT network support activities for US Army North, located at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. This role involves supervising complex operations and providing technical guidance for network and cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise complex operations involving multiple functional areas such as network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.
- Supervise all contract personnel engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including communications equipment on various platforms in large-scale or multi-shift operations.
- Perform systems engineering, maintenance, and testing tasks related to major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities/equipment.
- Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring NIPRNET and SIPRNET information system operations, including designing, building, and implementing network systems.
- Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS implementation and operations.
- Monitor complex technical control facility hardware and software, either on-premises or cloud-based.
- Manage testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems in support of large-scale systems projects.
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products, including determination of software, hardware, OS, and platform specifications for on-premises, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS implementations.
- Monitor and respond to hardware, software, network, and cloud problems through routine testing and analysis of all network facilities (power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals).
- Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance; troubleshoot network systems and make improvements.
- Support a variety of IT systems and deploy commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies, including Microsoft, Linux, networking NSA Type 1 encryption devices, VOIP, email, video teleconferencing, and common desktop productivity tools.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of progressive experience supporting information technology operations.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience, including direct supervision of employees (e.g., day-to-day task assignment, formal/informal counseling, professional development, annual performance evaluations, and control of work hours/paid time off). Leading a team or project does not qualify as supervisory experience.
- 5+ years of Cisco ISR experience.
- 3+ years of VMware experience.
- 5+ years of networking experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the configuration, management, and use of security information and event management (SIEM) software (e.g., Splunk), including proper reaction to SIEM events.
- Experience using the latest versions of:
- Microsoft Operating Systems
- Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
- .NET and MS SQL Server
- VMware, vCenter, ESX
- MS Active Directory Admin
- SAN Storage and Nutanix
- Cisco products, including switches, routers, ASA firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
- Computer Science or IT-related field
- Business Administration/Management
- Technology Management
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
