Tier 2 Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer (3rd Shift)

About the role

The Tier 2 Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of critical systems and data through proactive monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and alert on potential issues
• Respond to and resolve incidents related to backup and disaster recovery processes
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and test them regularly
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless operations during outages
• Document procedures and best practices for backup and disaster recovery

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support or related field
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and VMware
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• CCENT/ICND1 certification preferred
• Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus
